My last Design Team post

Hi everyone

Today I'm sharing my last project and blog for Kerry's Crafty Cards & Cuts Design Team.  I want to thank Kerry & Alanna for giving me the opportunity to be part of a Design Team and I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 6 months.  I have learnt so many new techniques and have made some lovely friends, and for that I'm very grateful.

So, here it is....I made this card for a lovely friend of mine.  I used Kaisercrafts Forget-Me-Not Paper Collection, along with a plain paper doily that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Old Lace) and added some metallic embellishments.

To find all the materials you would need to make this card, please visit www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au/store/

Again, thanks to the whole Design Team and thanks to all of you for checking out my posts.

Take care and happy crafting

My beautiful girls....

Hi everyone

This layout is made using one of Kaisercraft's new paper collections, Forget-Me-Not.  I have to say that I did find it a bit hard to work with, but I'm really happy with the end result.

The photo in this layout includes my favourite girls, my little one (at her 2nd Birthday party) with my two nieces.  I absolutely love this photo but it would be even more beautiful if my little angel (Lara, now sleeping in heaven) was in it, so I added the little wooden flourish butterfly to symbolise her.

Thanks

2 of my favourite things.....

 Hi everyone,

This week I'm sharing two of my favourite things (for crafting that is), my Copic Ciao Markers and La La Land Stamps!!

I coloured this little cutie for my daughter's 2nd birthday invitations.

Tag:  Ranger Craft Tags (size #8)
Paper:  Kaisercraft Miss Nelly
Stamp:  La La Land - Sugar n Spice Marci
Copics:  E33, E35, E37, E47, YR000, YR00, RV02, RV04, RV06, B02, B05, C5
Stickles:  Thistle

Copics are so much fun, I love how you can blend the colours to create shading and even make new colours.  I have to warn you though...they are very addictive!!  You can't stop at a few markers, before you know it, you'll want (need!!) them all!

Happy colouring!

Birthday Time at PPD HQ!!

Hi

Just wanted to share a couple of birthday cards I made for my PPD kids.  November is always a crazy month at our place as two of the children have their birthdays two days apart!  Yes, in hindsight, the planning wasn't so great!!

Anyway here are the cards I made.  This one is for my son's 12th birthday and he is a mad Yu-gi-oh card collector.  This image is available from Kenny K Digi Stamps and I used copics to colour it in and some assorted pattern papers I had in my stash.

This card I made for my daughter's 2nd Birthday.  The image is Magnolia Stamp - Ballerina Tilda and she is also coloured in using copics.  The papers are from Kaisercraft's Miss Nelly's Collection (an old time favourite).

I hope you like my cards and remember if you would like to order a handmade card for any occasion, please pop over and check out my page at www.facebook.com/PinkPossumDesigns or contact me at pinkpossumd@optusnet.com.au

Thanks

Gift Box & Card

Hi!  Just dropping in to say hi and share my project for this week.

This week I got to play with one of my favourite Kaisercraft Collections, Magnolia Grove.  I love the subtle colours and the lovely floral patterns.

I found a cute little box which was just the perfect size for a gift that I got for a friend of mine but it just looked a bit sad and plain....so, of course it got a make over!  I'm really happy with how its turned out.  Its so rewarding to take something really plain and ordinary and then by adding some of the gorgeous papers that are available, you can make something original and unique.

I added one of Kaisercraft's Magical Butterfly Wooden Flourishes to the lid.

With all the little offcuts, some lace and some collectables, I made a little gift card to match.

I love colouring with my Copics!!

Hi everyone,  I'm so excited that my DT project for this week is all about Copics!!  I first bought my copics last year and only had about 10 ciao markers....now my collection has slowly grown to 52.  And I've got a wish list a mile long.

I love the flexibilty you get with using copics...they blend so well and the you can even make up your own colour combinations by blending different colours.

If you are new to Copics, I would suggest going on youtube and checking out the many tutorials etc and then you can get an idea of where to start with choosing your collection.  Just remember when colouring stamps with copics to use X-press blending card and Momento Tuxedo Black Ink.

The stamp I using this week is such a cutie....its 'Back to school Luka' from La La Land Stamps.  I decided to colour him and make a card for my nephew, who is turning 13 this week.

The photos below show the different stages of colouring and the also has which colours I used.

Here he is all finished and cut out, ready for placement on a card!

The orange shimmer card was from my stash but every thing else is available from http://www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au/store/

Materials used:
Kaisercraft's Sears and Son Collection
Kaisercrafts Mini alpha stickers
La La Land Stamps
Copic Ciao Markers

I also decided to make a little gift card envelope to add to his card.....

I hope he likes it and I hope this inspires you to get out your copics and have a colour!!  I find colouring so therapeutic and relaxing...so go on, have a go!
Thanks

Think Pink - Card no 2

Hi everyone, just wanting to share a little card I made for the Think Pink Challenge over at Copic Oz.  For every card made and added to the challenge, $5.00 is donated to the http://mcgrathfoundation.gofundraise.com.au/page/copicaustralia
such a wonderful organisation which helps raise funds for Breast Cancer.

Copic Oz are now going to donate $1000 to the McGrath Foundation if they reach 100 Think PInk Cards.....which they are so close to.  So here is my next submission :)

I just love this stamp...she is such a cutie!!

Design Team Project - Butterfly Kisses

Hi everyone!

The design team so lovingly let me play with the very girlie and cute collection, Kaisercraft's Butterfly Kisses this month and I couldn't be happier!!  I love the bright and bold colours.  At first they can seem a bit in your face but as you start playing with them they are very easy to use.

I had seen a similar layout in a Australian Scrapbook Creation Magazine by Maria Featon, so I decided to use it for inspiration.  I really like the different strips of patterned paper and the how the layout is layered with different types of papers from the collection.

For this layout, I used a beautiful photograph of my little Miss, which was taken last year.  I think the black and white photograph looks great with the colourful background and embellishments.

Its difficult to tell, but in this photograph, my little Miss is fascinated by a fabric flower, so I thought it fitting to add flowers as an embellishment.

I have finally started using distressing techniques in my layouts....at first I found it quite difficult to do, but now I'm loving how it all looks and how easy it is to fix any little mishaps!!

So if I have inspired you to use this beautiful collection, then please head over to

for all of your scrapbooking and papercrafting supplies!!

Thanks
Sandra :)

Twig & Berry - Days till Christmas

Hi all

Here's my Off the Page project - Days till Christmas (Count down Tree) that I made for the DT.

I used Kaisercrafts Twig & Berry Paper Collection, which is just beautiful.

The mini alphas, buttons, star and twine are from my own stash.  The numerals (also from Kaisercraft) were inked in red and decorated with 'Xmas Red' stickles.

This project was so much fun to make and as you can see there aren't too many days left until Christmas!! Scary thought isn't it!

Most, if not all, of these items can be purchased at Kerry's store http://www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au

See you later

Sandra :)

Stampavie - Lily from the heart

Hi

Just stopping by very quickly to show you a sweet little card I made for my goddaughter's birthday last weekend.

I used a 6x6inch paper pad that I can't remember the name of but it looked lovely with the Stampavie Image I used!

Lily was coloured in using Copic Markers. I love how easy it is to blend colours and how vibrant the copic colours are.

I think she is so cute and I can't wait to be able to use this stamp again.

Bye for now

Father's Day

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to show some Father's Day cards I was busy making last week!

I used Kaisercraft's Sears & Son Paper Collection which looks great for masculine themed cards.

I even got to do a little colouring in using my Copic Markers (which I adore!!), I think the Mr Fix It man turned out very cute!!

Mr PPD was very happy with his card!

Hope you like them.

August Layout Challenge - Fine and Sunny

Happy Monday everyone!!  It was my turn to set a challenge for August for  www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au

I've decided that the challenge will be a layout one.....as sometimes its hard to get inspired, I chose a simple layout that will work well for many different photo combinations.  I haven't scrapped a layout page for my family in a long time and was finding it difficult to get started, but once I chose the photos it all fell into place quite easily!

Challenge Layout Sketch:

This is my example of the challenge....I used Kaisercraft's Fine and Sunny Paper Collection which is very cute. I wanted to add a photo of the kids but unfortunately I don't have one of the four of them together, so this was the best I could do.....

Hidden journal tag:

Even though the layout is simple, it was a challenge for me not to add frills, flowers & bling (which I do to most of my projects) but I'm really happy with how this has turned out.

Hope you like it...

Bye for now!!

Hi, just popping in to show you 2 cards I made using Kaisercraft's Save the Date Collection.  This is one of the new release collections for August and I'm loving it!!  The papers are gorgeous and the little pinwheels are my favourite.

This collection reminds me of school holidays and summer!!

I can already imagine the party invitations and decorations that can be made using
Save the Date.

Save the Date also comes with matching collectables, ribbon and cute DYI pinwheels. So it is just so easy to coordinate your papers and embellishments.

Hi this is Sandra and here is my first OTP project for Kerryscraftycardsandcuts Design Team.  I am so nervous and excited about this first design and writing this blog.

Kerry has a fantastic online store, where you will find the collection below as well as so many other gorgeous goodies, so make sure that you pop over and check it out.

I love the new paper collection Miss Match from Kaisercraft, the colours and florals are beautiful and have a vintage look.  As I was working on this design, I was already thinking of all the other things that I want to create with this collection.  I hope that my design inspires you too!

Tuesday 3 July 2012

Hi all.  I've got a few spare minutes (before the kids come looking for me!!) to show you my crafting haven!!  Before starting PinkPossum Designs last year, I claimed a little nook in our study for myself.  The space isn't huge but I have used every spare inch of it and slowly I've claimed the rest of the study too!  Having only a small area to work in, can be totally frustrating sometimes but it has also helped me be more organised!  Organised...mess!!

I love my new Ikea cube storage shelf and my little miss nearly 2, loves the hanging pockets on the back of the door....she loves to arrange my gems & bling!!

My very talented hubby has also played a part in PPD's craft room.  He has custom made me lots of my storage units etc.  He is out of action at the moment, so my little to do list for him has to wait for now!!

"MUUUUUUM"..........oh no, they found me!  Oh well, better sign off for now.

I won't be away for too long...as shortly I'll be posting my very first project for the Design Team at Kerry's Crafty Cards and Cuts!  So excited!!

Ps  if you're after some great scrapbooking supply bargains, head over to:

Scary & exciting news

Hi everyone, just popping in to share my scary & exciting news....I've been chosen to be part of a new design team over at Kerry's Crafty Cards and Cuts!  This is all very new to me and I'm sure that I'll be learning lots from the other members of the team, Kerry, Alanna & Nicky.  They are very talented scrappers and I'm sure that over the next year, we'll have many gorgeous projects to share with all of you.

At the moment, I'm working on some birthday cards.  I'm loving my copic markers so much, that I just have to use them on all of my cards!!  Here's a few examples:

These are all Digi Stamps from Make it Crafty (whose stamps I just adore!!)

I hope to have a few more to show you next time.

So, hope you are all having a great week - I'm going to try and get in as much scrapping as I can before the kids start school holidays!!

Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to my brand spanking new blog page!!  You must all forgive me as I have NO idea what I'm doing but I'm sure with trial and error, I'll muddle my way through!!

My name is Sandra and I'm in love with all things papercrafted.  Just over a year ago, I began my little SAHM business, PinkPossum Designs.  I have been scrapbooking, cardmaking and papercrafted for quite a few years now.  I also love cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, drawing and painting.

I am mum to four gorgeous kids....two boys 14 & 11, princess 20mths and Lara, our angel in heaven who passed away at 10mths of age, just over 3 years ago.  I've been married for 16years to the most patient and loving man, who can still make me laugh and smile!

PinkPossum Designs was named partly after my little angel.  Lara spent most of her short life in hospital and one of the nurses there nicknamed her "possum" because she had the largest, brown eyes!  When we lost our angel...scrapbooking became my only way of coping with the immense grief.  I spent the next 6 months just solidly working on her album.  I am a self taught scrapbooker, so my first few pages would be completely different if I was doing them now!  But I am still very happy with the overall album.

Here are a few pages from Lara's Album:

Each time I look at her album, I find a different page that becomes my favourite!  At the moment its the "sweet girl" page.

Well, I hope to be able to show you more of my creations as time goes on.  If you get a free moment, please pop over to my facebook page www.facebook.com/PinkPossumDesigns and say hi!

Thanks

Sandra
